Matthew Stroup is a student of the University of South Carolina with a major in Hospitality, Retail & Sport Management. He’s serving as an intern through December 2020 for IIFX. His goal following graduation is to obtain a full-time position in the sports and entertainment industry.

Originally hailing from Ijamsville, Maryland, Matthew has held several positions related to his major. These include Ticket Intern for The Chesapeake Bayhawks, golf course host with the Augusta National Golf Club, Shift Operator with Whitetail Resorts, and working with the Four Streams Golf Club as a Cart Attendant. Each of these opportunities spanned across four different cities and three different states.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys participating in charity work, a passion he found while being a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity while at South Carolina. As a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Matthew participated in various philanthropic events supporting institutions such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He also enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.

When asked what had drawn Matthew to the opportunity he said, “The biggest reason was the mission statement and the goals of the team. I believe this organization is 110 percent dedicated to educating and ensuring, safety and security protocols for organizations all over the world.” He continued, “It’s more crucial than ever to be safe and health conscious amidst this pandemic. To be a part of something that is looking ahead for opportunities to improve our workforce, while gaining further education myself about pressing matters worldwide, is an invaluable experience and honor to be a part of. “
