YUUK! Delay of Game as Fan “Hurls” on Court
We’ve seen fans throw bottles and garbage onto basketball courts, stopping play until the crowd settles down. Some fans hurl insults and taunts at teams and players to express their disappointment. In this case, a fan “hurling” onto the court was enough to bring play to a halt.
Talk about a “memory-making event!” A Sacramento Kings fan sitting courtside during a game between the Sacramento and the Utah Jazz could not “contain” himself. The fan vomited on the basketball court near the Utah bench during the fourth quarter, bringing the game to a halt for more than 20-minutes.
It was an “all hands on court” response, with “Slamson the Lion,” the Kings mascot, helping clean up the mess. Rudy Gobert, the 7’1″ Center for the Utah Jazz, spoke to the fan and reported that he was smiling while regurgitating the contents of his stomach on the court. The fan was escorted out of the seating area while the mess was cleaned up.
Post-cleaning, the Utah Jazz bested the Kings 123-105.
