Movie in Space! Cast and Crew are Back on Earth

NOTE: In our last newsletter, we noted the launch of the cast and crew of “Vyzov” (The Challenge) to the International Space Station.  They have returned to earth…

The first movie filmed in space is a wrap! The cast and crew of “Vyzov” (The Challenge), have returned to Earth after spending 12 days filming on the International Space Station. The cast and production crew’s safe return to Kazakhstan was made by the spacecraft on October 17th, 2021 at 10:35 AM local Kazakhstan time.

The return crew was led by Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky. He led the crew back to Earth safely in a space capsule after being on a six month mission aboard the International Space Station. The rest of the movie crew could only stay on the ISS for 12 days.

Mission Success?

“The Challenge” and its cast and crew filmed all of their necessary scenes during their 12 day voyage in space.

Every crew member made it back to Kazakhstan, and they were met with an abundance of journalists, photographers, flowers, fans, and family.

Per The Daily Mail, Peresild, the main character of the film, was sad that the process in space was over, “It seemed that 12 days would be a lot, but I did not want to leave when everything was over,” Peresild said.
