Dr. James Hanna
Rossville Consolidated School District
Dr. Hanna is concluding his 21st year as Superintendent of the Rossville Consolidated School District. His 36 years as a central office administrator, a building principal, a teacher, and a coach have provided him a wide variety of experiences and challenges in strengthening the safe learning environment for the children he serves. Many of the practices implemented at his small rural school district have been done through professional development, changes to policy and procedures and done at a minimal cost.
Dr. Hanna has been instrumental in developing safe practices for his school and provided his expertise with others by chairing the Clinton County School Safety Commission, being a speaker at safety conferences, and leading discussions on forming a school corporation police department. The safe practices implemented haven’t been limited to his school campus. He is frequently asked to discuss safety topics with other school corporations.
