“BEST PRACTICES FOR SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT VENUE EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE”
On Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 1:00 PM CT, the Innovation Institute for Fan Experience (IIFX) will host a virtual town hall titled “Best Practices for Sports & Entertainment Venue Emergency Medical Response.” A distinguished panel of Sports & Entertainment industry leaders will join the IIFX Medical Advisory Board’s experts to discuss best practices for responding to a medical emergency during a sports or entertainment event.
The very public, sudden cardiac arrest incident and hospitalization of 24-year-old Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin illustrated the importance of having well-trained staff, trainers, and a medical team available to provide emergency medical response.
This Virtual Town Hall event is focused on the key elements of emergency medical response. Expert panelists will discuss:
- Field response to critical medical incidents
- Standards for field response applicable to smaller venues with fewer resources
- Venue response to critical incidents
- Importance of CPR and AED training, and stop the bleed training
- Planning and exercises
- Coordination with nonmedical resources and leadership
- Public communications – during and after incident
- Legal considerations and Duty of Care
This Town Hall is for venue and event managers, team leaders and staff, physicians, managers, supervisors, incident managers, and others associated with sports & entertainment venues of all sizes.
Registration is now open for this free event! Registrants can submit questions for the experts during the registration process.
The Town Hall is part of IIFX’s FANCENTRICTM series of podcasts and forums and is complimentary to any and all who can benefit from attending. It features visionary industry thought leaders, advanced practitioners, academics, authors, technologists, and fans from around the world.
